A 5-min real-world documentary about Pasar Malams (Night Markets) in Singapore.

Role: Videographer, Pre-Production Planning, Title Designer.

• Videographer: Shot the majority of the footage, focusing on framing, composition, and capturing the overall visual style of the documentary.
• Pre-Production Planning: Assisted in planning and structuring the interviews, ensuring responses aligned clearly with the intended questions and narrative direction.
• Title Designer: Designed the title slate, focusing on typography and layout to match the tone of the documentary.

Summary: A fast-paced documentary exploring the declining culture of Pasar Malams (Night Markets) in Singapore, told through the perspectives of vendors from three different generations. Targeted at Gen Z, the film highlights how tradition, business, and identity are changing over time, and why this once-vibrant culture is slowly fading.

A Short Film under 4-min about a teenager struggling to not be influenced by the overwhelming normalisation of drug use in his life.

•  Videographer: Shot the majority of the film, focusing on framing, composition, and camera movement to reflect the main character’s emotional state. Used visual techniques to create a sense of pressure and intensity as the story progresses.
• Talent: Portrayed the main character, expressing his internal conflict and emotional struggle through body language and subtle performance, especially in moments without dialogue.
• Editor: Assembled and structured the film to build a clear narrative flow, pacing the scenes to reflect the character’s rising tension. Incorporated sound design and transitions to emphasise the different influences in his life and their impact on his decisions.
• Pre-Production Planning: Contributed to the development of the storyline, planning key scenes and scenarios to clearly represent the different sources of influence, including creative shots and transitions to enhance the film. Helped ensure the narrative remained focused and impactful within the short runtime.

Summary: The story follows the main character, who is constantly surrounded by normalised drug use. His sister uses pills to cope with stress, his best friend relies on substances to study, and his teammates use drugs to enhance their performance. Being around all of this, he starts to feel pressured to do the same.

As his internal struggle builds, the film explores all three situations and the consequences that come with them. In the end, he questions these norms and chooses to reject drugs, realising that just because something is common doesn’t mean it’s right.

A 2-min Short Film about the different perspectives and opinions of birds disrupting the eating experience in Republic Polytechnic, involving 3 interviewees (including myself).

• Videographer: Filmed interviews and surrounding environment at the South Food Court, focusing on clear framing and natural compositions to capture authentic reactions. Also gathered supporting shots to establish the setting and enhance the overall viewing experience.
• Editor: Structured and trimmed the footage into a concise 2-minute narrative, ensuring a smooth flow between each interviewee. Balanced pacing and audio to keep the film engaging while clearly presenting the different perspectives.

• Pre-Production Planning: Helped plan the direction of the film, including identifying the topic, preparing interview questions, and deciding how to approach participants to achieve a range of responses. Ensured the concept remained focused and suitable for the short format.
• Talent: Appeared as one of the interviewees, contributing a perspective to the topic and helping to represent a relatable student viewpoint within the film.

Summary: The story follows an interviewer as they move around Republic Polytechnic’s South Food Court, approaching different students to gather their thoughts and opinions on the presence of birds in the area. Through these casual interactions, the interviewer uncovers a range of perspectives, capturing how students feel about sharing their dining space with the birds and how it affects their overall eating experience.

A Short Film under 2-min about how a person who struggles with Body Dysmorphia, views and thinks of herself, and of others.

Role: Co-Director, Storyboard Artist, Editor, Pre-Production Planning.

• Co-Director: Worked closely on shaping the creative direction of the film, making decisions on how the story should be visually and emotionally portrayed. Collaborated on guiding scenes to ensure the message and tone were conveyed effectively.
• Storyboard Artist: Created visual plans for key scenes, mapping out shots, angles, and transitions to clearly communicate the character’s emotions and perspective. Helped ensure a consistent visual flow before filming began.
• Editor: Structured and refined the footage to build an emotional narrative, using pacing, transitions, and sound to reflect the character’s internal struggle. Focused on creating a gradual intensification of her thoughts and feelings.

• Pre-Production Planning: Contributed to developing the storyline and planning how the concept of body dysmorphia would be portrayed within a short runtime. Ensured the narrative remained clear, impactful, and aligned with the intended message.

Summary: The story follows our Main Character struggling with body dysmorphia, causing her to perceive her appearance in a deeply negative way while constantly comparing herself to others she idealises. As these thoughts intensify, she is pulled into a cycle of overwhelming emotions, gradually distorting her self-image until she begins to see herself as something monstrous.
